Shillong: The National Commission for Women (NCW) in association with the Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini (RMP) has organised a two-day capacity building programme for women of Meghalaya on Geo-Spatial Technology.
The capacity-building programme will be held on May 30 and 31 in the NESAC campus at Umiam, near Shillong.
The batch size will be 50 for the capacity building programme on Geo-Spatial Technology. The programme is being offered free of cost.
Women working for NGO dealing with disaster management, environment, climate change, soil and water rejuvenation can attend the capacity building programme.
Elected women representatives from Gram Panchayat to Lok Sabha can also attend the programme, the RMP officials informed.
Women working in state government departments like Agriculture, Water Resources, Irrigation, Soil Conservation, and Panchayat Raj can attend the programme.
During the capacity building programme, the trainees will be imparted lessons on identification of the information obtained from satellites and applications of it in different domains like Agriculture, Water & Soil management.
The capacity building programme will also help the trainees to understand and addressing water, agriculture, forest, animal husbandry, environment and other civic issues in different parts of Meghalaya through satellite based information.
The attendees will also get information on various open source platforms provided by ISRO.
Moreover, the attendees will also get to know about Gram Panchayat Resource Planning through Gram Man-Chitra.
