Hyderabad: Google LLC, the most powerful company in the world, is building its largest campus outside the US in Hyderabad.
Google LLC is an American multinational technology company focusing on AI, online advertising, search engine technology, cloud computing, computer software, quantum computing, e-commerce, and consumer electronics.
Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc. is one of the five Big Tech companies, alongside Amazon, Apple Inc., Meta, and Microsoft.
Construction of the largest campus in Hyderabad commenced late last year, is expected to be ready by the first quarter of 2026.
In March 2023, Google LLC had unveiled the design for the 3 million square feet building at Gachbowli in Hyderabad. In fact, it is going to be Google’s largest campus in the world.
The 111 Eighth Avenue in New York, also known as the Google Building, is the largest campus of the company. The campus is 15 stories tall, and occupying an entire city block. It has 2.9 million square feet of floor space.
The Googleplex is the corporate headquarters complex of Google and its parent company, Alphabet Inc. It is located at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway in Mountain View in California. It has 2 million square feet of office space, and is the company’s second largest square footage assemblage of Google buildings, after Google’s 111 Eighth Avenue building in New York City, which the company bought in 2010.
While Bengaluru lost out to Hyderabad in Google’s choice for the new campus in India, it is believed that the modern infrastructure is going to change the company’s working ecosystem in India.
The 7.3-acre land at Gachbowli in Hyderabad was acquired by Google LLC in 2019.
Though much details of the Hyderabad campus has not been revealed, it is believed that Google’s new campus in Hyderabad will offer its highly skilled tech workforce a healthy, collaborative workplace that is both resilient and adaptable, designed to serve the city for years to come.
Not only Google, but Hyderabad is also home to the largest campuses of many multinational companies, including the Amazon.
The city attracts various MNCs not only because it is a hub for IT but also due to the availability of a skilled IT workforce.
