Guwahati: The 2nd edition of NECDC Senior Women’s Inter-State Tournament, featuring top women cricketers from six northeastern states – Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Sikkim – will kick off on April 7 at the Sikkim Cricket Ground in Mining, Rangpo.
The event is being organised by the North East Cricket Development Council (NECDC).
The tournament will be held in a league-cum-knockout format, with the six teams divided into two groups.
Group A will have Nagaland, Mizoram, and Meghalaya, while Group B comprises Sikkim, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh.
Each team will play two matches in the group stage. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals scheduled for April 10. The final will be held on April 12.
For the first time, the Sikkim Cricket Association will host this prestigious inter-state tournament.
The inaugural edition, held in Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya, concluded with Sikkim and Nagaland sharing the championship title.
On April 7, the opening day of the tournament, Nagaland will face Mizoram in the morning, while host Sikkim will play Manipur later in the day.

Tika Subba, president of the Sikkim Cricket Association, stated, “We are proud to host the second edition of the NECDC Senior Women’s Inter-State Tournament.
He added that the tournament not only strengthened the spirit of regional camaraderie but also furthered their collective vision of developing women’s cricket in the Northeast.
