Tura: The Meghalaya Taekwondo Association (MTA) convened its General Body Meeting on Saturday at Ringregittim, Tura, to strategise preparations for the upcoming 39th National Games scheduled to be held in 2027.
The meeting brought together executive members from key districts including West Garo Hills, East Garo Hills, North Garo Hills, West Jaintia Hills, and East Khasi Hills.
The focus of the discussion was on finalising selection criteria, athlete quotas, and age/weight categories for Taekwondo athletes at both district and state levels.
Officials confirmed that training-cum-selection trials for the Taekwondo discipline have already commenced in some districts and will continue through July to September 2025.
The trials aim to identify the most promising talent to represent Meghalaya in the National Games.
