Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah received the International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricketer of the Year Award for 2024 in Dubai on Sunday.

Bumrah, who arrived in Dubai on Sunday, was presented the awards and caps by ICC chairman Jay Shah.

He was named the ICC Cricketer of the Year in 2024 and the T20I Cricketer of the Year. He was also part of the Test and T20I teams of the year.

He earned the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year distinction alongside the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Award following his remarkable performance in 2024.

Bumrah’s achievements included claiming 71 wickets in Test cricket at an impressive average of 14.92.

Additionally, he secured the ‘Player of the Tournament’ title at the T20 World Cup hosted in the USA and West Indies, where he captured 15 wickets in India’s triumphant campaign while maintaining an exceptional average of 8.26 and an economy rate of 4.17.

Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of India’s Champions Trophy squad due to a back injury sustained during India’s Test tour of Australia earlier in 2025. Although initially named in the preliminary 15-member squad, the BCCI selectors ultimately decided to leave him out as a precautionary measure.

Young pacer Harshit Rana was named as Bumrah’s replacement for the tournament.

Bumrah also met and greeted the Indian team during their warm-up session ahead of the highly-anticipated Champions Trophy clash against Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday.

Batting great Sunil Gavaskar, who was at the venue, said Bumrah meeting the Indian team will lift their morale ahead of the big game.
