New Delhi: Cricket enthusiasts are in for a nostalgic treat as former international stars are all set to return to the pitch in the much-anticipated Intercontinental Legends Championship (ILC), kicking off on May 27 at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex, Greater Noida.
The mega event will culminate with a grand finale on June 5.
Star batter and former Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan will headline the Indian Warriors squad, alongside ex-pacer Praveen Kumar, bringing homegrown flair to the global event.
They will be joined by cricketing legends representing six dynamic teams: African Lions, Trans Titans (Australia & New Zealand), Euro Gladiators, American Strikers, and Asian Avengers.
The ILC, conceptualised by former cricketer Pradeep Sangwan and organised by MVP Quest Private Limited with 100 Sports managing the event, promises to deliver 18 thrilling matches packed with vintage cricketing brilliance and continental pride.
“We are thrilled to bring together some of the most celebrated cricketing names from around the world,” said Sangwan, expressing his excitement over the league. “The ILC is not just a tournament; it’s a celebration of the legacy these legends carry.”
In a star-studded jersey launch held last month, Dhawan shared his enthusiasm: “The Intercontinental Legends Championship not only revives the passion of legends but also brings fans a unique blend of nostalgia and entertainment. I’m thrilled to be part of this historic launch and can’t wait for the action to begin.”
