Bangkok: Ritika claimed the women’s 80+kg title to secure India’s only gold medal on the final day of the Asian U-22 Boxing Championships, as the country wrapped up its campaign with an overall fourth-place finish in the category.
The Indian U-22 squad ended with 13 medals, including four golds, while the U-19 team collected 14 medals — three gold, seven silver, and four bronze — finishing overall second in their category.
In the women’s heavyweight final, Ritika displayed a composed yet aggressive approach to outclass Kazakhstan’s Assel Toktassyn, delivering decisive punches to seal the win.

Earlier, Yatri Patel settled for silver after losing to Uzbekistan’s Khumorabonu Mamajonova in the women’s 57kg final.
Priya fought valiantly in the 60kg bout but fell 2-3 to China’s Yu Tian, while Neeraj lost to Uzbekistan’s Shavkatjon Boltaev in the men’s 75kg final.
In the closing bout of the tournament, Ishan Kataria was beaten by Uzbekistan’s Khalimjon Mamasoliev in the men’s 90+kg category, earning silver.
