Guwahati: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday confirmed Guwahati as the venue for the first ODI versus Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lankan team will play three T20I matches and three ODI matches against India between January 3 and 15.
The India-Sri Lanka series will start with T20I matches on January 3 at Mumbai, followed by Pune (January 5) and Rajkot (January 7).
The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka will be played on January 10 at Guwahati, followed by Kolkata (January 12) and Trivandram (January 15).
Assam Cricket Association (ACA) officials are euphoric with BCCI’s decision to have Guwahati as the venue for the first ODI against Sri Lanka.
The Assam Cricket Association has a beautiful state-of-the-art stadium at Barsapara in Guwahati.
The ACA stadium hosted a T20I match between India and South Africa on October 1 this year.
Unfortunately, the earlier match between India and Sri Lanka on January 5, 2020 was washed away due to rain.
