Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh is all set to host the 4th edition of the ‘Arunachal State Games 2025’, scheduled to kick off on April 18.
This five-day multi-sport extravaganza promises to be a showcase of the state’s burgeoning athletic talent and a celebration of sportsmanship.
The event will feature a wide range of sporting disciplines, offering opportunities for athletes of various backgrounds and abilities to participate.
The Games will feature 22 sports: archery, arm-wrestling, athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, chess, curling, football (men and women), hockey, judo, karate, kho kho, pencak silat, skating, table tennis, taekwondo, tug of war, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling, and wushu.
Around 3,235 athletes are expected to participate in the Arunachal State Games 2025. The events will be held in the ICR, RGU and the Golden Jubilee Outdoor Stadium in Yupia.
A significant event on the state’s sporting calendar, the ‘Arunachal State Games’ aims to provide a platform for athletes from across the state to compete and excel.
Former regional director of SAI Guwahati Dr Subash Basumatary, who has a vast experience in conducting major regional, national, and international competitions, will be the chairman of the Games’ Technical Conduct Committee.
Basumatary emphasized that the Olympics model will be the framework for the Games, assuring both high-level competition and adherence to international guidelines.
