Guwahati: Good news for Google users. The US-based tech company has announced a new ‘package tracking’ feature for the Gmail users for effective package tracking and delivery information.
Gmail users will now get delivery information of the packages they have ordered right in their inbox. Initially, the feature will be available to users in the US, and will be subsequently launched across the globe.
Google announced in one of its recent blog posts that package tracking will be available across most major US shipping carriers and will provide updated details at a glance.
Details of package shipments including estimated arrival date and status of delivery will be updated in real time.
For orders with tracking numbers, Gmail users can view the ‘current delivery status’ in their inbox list view.
Users can choose to receive package tracking updates directly from their inbox or in Gmail settings, Google said. Users can also opt-out of the service at any time through their Gmail settings.
