Taking on the member parties of Mahagathbandhan, consisting of JD (U), RJD Congress and the Left parties was not an easy task. But, Chaudhary managed to perform extremely well.

Chaudhary had replaced Sanjay Jaiswal, who belongs to the Vaishya community, an other backward class or OBC.

Chaudhary is comparatively new in the BJP, and had joined the saffron party in 2018. Before joining the BJP, Samrat Chaudhary was with the RJD till 2014 and after that, he was with the JD(U).

His father, Shakuni Chaudhary, a former army man-turned-politician and well-known socialist leader, was a minister and former MP. He is considered close to the Nitish Kumar as well Lalu Prasad Yadav.
