A majestic 70-storey skyscraper temple, hailed as the Vrindavan Heritage Tower or Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir, is poised to redefine the skyline of Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh.
At a staggering estimated cost of ₹668.64 crore, this architectural marvel is expected to be a beacon of Indian culture on the global stage, aimed at boosting spritual tourism and the local economy.
Speaking on the significance of this monumental structure, a prominent ISKCON leader highlighted its role in showcasing India’s rich heritage to the world.
Chanchalapathi Dasa, Vice Chairman and Co-Mentor of the Global Hare Krishna Movement, and Senior Vice President of ISKCON Bangalore, recently apprised the press about the layout of the heritage tower.
He detailed its octagonal design housing main temples, additional shrines, and a memorial dedicated to Srila Prabhupada.
He also echoed Prime Minister Modi’s call to the Indian diaspora to bring foreigners, particularly Americans, to India for spiritual experiences.
Dasa stressed on the demand for spiritual encounters alongside modern amenities, stressing the need of religious infrastructures in bolstering India’s tourism sector.
Optimistic about India’s heritage infrastructure, Dasa envisioned attracting intellectuals and leaders globally for philosophical discussions and cultural exchanges.
Projections from the Uttar Pradesh government’s tourism department foresee a substantial increase in visitor numbers to Vrindavan, reaching 100 million within the next six to ten years.
Dasa went to inform plans for comfortable accommodation within the temple complex, catering cater to the anticipated surge in visitors.
To accommodate this influx, the temple complex will boast of a massive parking facility, capable of accommodating up to 3,000 cars simultaneously, he added.
