New Delhi: The U.S. Embassy and U.S. Consulate in Kolkata, in partnership with the Observer Research Foundation, hosted the New Delhi chapter of the ‘U.S. Strategic Framework for the Indo-Pacific: Northeastern Dialogue’ in New Delhi on Thursday (March 12).
This event underscored America’s partnership with India in ensuring a free, open, and prosperous Indo-Pacific.
By grounding Indo-Pacific and Quad policy discussions in concrete regional realities, the New Delhi dialogue highlighted how India’s Northeast can align with American economic and strategic interests by expanding market access, strengthening resilient supply chains, and creating new opportunities for American businesses.
The initiative reinforces America’s commitment to a results-driven U.S.–India partnership that advances regional security, economic competitiveness, and long-term prosperity for both nations.
The dialogue was the final event of a U.S. Consulate Kolkata–funded 18-month project that focused on the U.S. Strategic Framework for the Indo-Pacific and the role of the Quad in supporting trade, connectivity, security, and economic growth in India’s Northeast.
The six regional policy dialogues were conducted across Meghalaya, Assam, Sikkim, Tripura, Mizoram, and Manipur (virtual), followed by national-level dialogues in Kolkata with the finale in New Delhi.
The dialogues engaged more than 230 stakeholders from government, business, academia, media, and civil society, with a focus on identifying opportunities to better integrate India’s Northeast into America-led Quad and Indo-Pacific supply chains, trade corridors, and connectivity networks.
