Strategic talks dominate Assam Rifles Inspector General’s Conference 2024 in Meghalaya

SHILLONG: The Assam Rifles Inspector General’s Conference 2024 convened at the Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles in Laitkor, Shillong on Friday.

Presided over by Lieutenant General PC Nair, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, PhD, the Director General of Assam Rifles, the conference saw the participation of Formation Commanders, Battalion Commanders, and Staff Officers from Headquarters DGAR and Formations.

“The Assam Rifles Commanders Conference 2024 provided a valuable platform for senior military leaders to deliberate on critical issues related to combat potential and operational readiness of Assam Rifles,” said Lieutenant General PC Nair.

During the conference, Lieutenant General PC Nair stressed on the importance of maintaining the integrity of the Indo-Myanmar Border.

He also commended the troops for their professional and unbiased conduct in handling the situation in Manipur.

Discussions also centred around strategies and measures to strengthen the combat readiness and capabilities of Assam Rifles in conventional operations.

Key highlights of the conference included strategic discussions on enhancing the combat potential by equipping Assam Rifles units with state-of-the-art weapons and equipment.

He also highlighted the significance of sharing best practices to improve efficiency through training and skill development, crucial for tackling changing security challenges.

Lieutenant General PC Nair lauded the Formation and Unit Commanders for maintaining peace and tranquillity in their respective areas of responsibility.

He urged vigilance in the volatile and dynamic environment and highlighted Assam Rifles’ commitment to the security and well-being of the people of the Northeast.

The conference also saw the presentation of Rajbhasha Trophies to 27 Assam Rifles (1st Prize), 28 Assam Rifles (2nd Prize), and Assam Rifles Training Centre and School (3rd Prize) for their outstanding contribution in the implementation of Hindi.

In a nutshell, the conference reaffirmed the paramilitary force’s commitment to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence for continuous improvement in all fields.
