Gangtok: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be on a 2-day visit to Sikkim on October 11 to attend a crucial conference of all senior commanders of the Indian Army.
For the first time, top Army officials will gather at a location near the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China during the conference scheduled for October 10-11.
The conference will be addressed by key figures, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The discussions will focus on pressing security concerns, particularly the ongoing situation along the LAC, with special attention to the sensitive regions of Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh, where frequent stand-offs between Indian and Chinese forces have occurred. The operational readiness of the division will be discussed during the conference.

Singh will inaugurate Bardang’s Preyna Stal, a memorial built in the honour of the army personnel who lost their lives in the flood caused by heavy rain and the Glacial Lake Outburst Flood in the Teesta River on October 4.
The union minister will join the troops for a Barakhana lunch at Samridhi Complex in Gangtok to boost the morale of soldiers stationed in the region.
The Defence Minister is scheduled to visit North Sikkim to assess the road conditions that have remained cut off for an extended period due to natural calamity.
He will also meet officials of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), General Reserve Engineer Force, and the Indian Army to review ongoing infrastructure and connectivity projects in the area.
