Gangtok: In a major step to enhance disaster readiness and public safety, the Sikkim State Disaster Management Authority (SSDMA) has operationalised a 24×7 State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) at the Tashiling Secretariat in Gangtok, along with District Emergency Operation Centres (DEOCs) in all six districts.
These centres will serve as critical coordination hubs, offering round-the-clock support during natural disasters, emergencies, and crisis situations, according to a public advisory issued by Mingma T Sherpa, Relief Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Land Revenue and Disaster Management Department.
The SEOC in Gangtok is under the leadership of Jigmee Bhutia, Deputy Director of SSDMA, and is fully equipped to respond to emergencies in real time.

The SSDMA reiterated its commitment to building a resilient disaster management system in Sikkim, focusing on rapid response, efficient coordination, and minimizing risks to life and property. Authorities have urged citizens to stay informed and use the helplines whenever necessary.
