New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday chaired an all-party meeting in the national capital to brief political leaders on ‘Operation Sindoor’, India’s recent cross-border strikes targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The meeting, convened a day after the operation, aimed to update Opposition leaders on the government’s objectives, outcomes, and preparedness for future developments.
Described as one of the most expansive anti-terror operations by the Indian Army, ‘Operation Sindoor’ targeted camps responsible for orchestrating recent terror attacks, including the one in Pahalgam.
Singh’s detailed briefing covered strategic considerations behind the strikes, operational highlights, and potential diplomatic and military implications.
Leaders across the political spectrum—including Congress’ Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi—attended the high-level meeting.
All parties unequivocally commended the armed forces for their precision and resolve, expressing solidarity with the government’s stance against cross-border terrorism.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, speaking to the press after the meeting, said, “All parties appreciated the Armed Forces and stood united on national security. There was complete consensus that terrorism must be countered with strength, and there is no space for politics on such issues.”
Highlighting the bipartisan unity, Rijiju praised the political leadership for demonstrating maturity and responsibility.
“Everyone complimented the forces and extended full support to the government’s efforts,” he said.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi echoed this sentiment, stating, “We have extended our full support to the government in its fight against terrorism.”
His colleague, Mallikarjun Kharge, added, “We were briefed about Operation Sindoor and made it clear that we stand with the nation and the government.”
AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi also welcomed the military operation, urging the Centre to follow up with strong diplomatic action.

“I congratulate the Armed Forces and the government for the successful operation. It’s time to launch an international campaign to designate The Resistance Front (TRF), which claimed the Pahalgam attack, as a terrorist organisation under the UN Security Council,” he said. Owaisi also advocated seeking U.S. support for the same.
‘Operation Sindoor’ marks a significant escalation in India’s counterterrorism strategy and has drawn rare political unanimity in its wake.
The government is expected to continue its outreach to global partners while maintaining heightened vigilance at the borders.
