He has a penchant for stirring a row and true to his avatar, independent Lok Sabha MP from Bihar’s Purnia, Pappu Yadav, is set to create another storm with his “reverence” for Pakistan’s founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Speaking on a podcast that premiered at 5 pm on Monday (July 21), the motormouth underscored that “Jinnah doesn’t deserve to be abused…”.
And he adds, “It would be unfair to solely blame Jinnah over partition. Others had a role too.”
However, at a time when the acrimony towards Pakistan is at its peak, Yadav’s soft corner for Jinnah will stir a hornet’s nest.
Relations between the two estranged neighbours have hit an all-time low with Islamabad refusing to own up to the blame of orchestrating the mayhem unleashed on innocent souls at Pahalgam.
In the wake of this tension, Yadav, who is part of the Mahagathbandhan and that also ahead of the Bihar assembly polls, seems to be opening a Pandora’s Box with his praise for Jinnah.
Yadav also makes it amply clear that Jan Suraj Party led by Prashant Kishor “should stop dreaming of becoming Bihar CM.”

However, despite the insult inflicted on him during Rahul Gandhi’s rally in Bihar when he wasn’t allowed access to the latter’s van, Yadav adds that he is still madly in love with Congress and Rahul Gandhi.
