In a momentous occasion, the newly crafted idol of Lord Ram was established inside the revered Ram Temple in Ayodhya, paving the way for the upcoming “Pran Pratishtha” or consecration ceremony scheduled for January 22.

The first glimpse of the divine idol was shared with the public through a photograph posted by Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje earlier on Friday.

Capturing the essence of childhood, the 51-inch idol depicts Lord Ram at the age of five, standing gracefully in the sanctum sanctorum.

Crafted from black stone by the skilled hands of Mysuru-based artist Arun Yogiraj, the idol stands as a testament to the artistic finesse that went into its creation.

The placement of the Ram Lalla idol was a sacred moment, accompanied by the melodious chanting of prayers that resonated through the temple walls.

Commencing on January 12, the rituals leading up to the temple consecration have been meticulously observed.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to perform the “Pran Pratistha” puja on January 22, a significant moment in the temple’s journey.

Heading the team of priests for the main rituals is Lakshmikant Dixit, ensuring that every step adheres to the sacred traditions.

Prime Minister Modi, demonstrating profound devotion, has undertaken a series of rules and rituals in preparation for his participation in the consecration ceremony.

Reports indicate that he is practicing austere living, sleeping on the floor with only a blanket and sustaining himself solely on coconut water.

In a humble appeal to the public, PM Modi has urged citizens not to visit Ayodhya on January 22, citing a desire to avoid causing any disturbance to Lord Ram.

However, starting January 23, he welcomes everyone to join in the auspicious celebration.

In a gesture symbolising unity, the Prime Minister has called upon every Indian household to light a diya on January 22, creating a collective beacon of light across the nation.

The consecration ceremony is expected to draw the presence of over 11,000 specially invited guests from various parts of the country and beyond.

As the spiritual atmosphere intensifies, Ayodhya eagerly anticipates the culmination of this historic event that marks a significant chapter in the cultural and religious tapestry of India.
