New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday declared that India will not yield to any form of “nuclear blackmail,” warning that military operations against Pakistan have only been paused, not withdrawn. He emphasised that future actions will depend entirely on Pakistan’s conduct.
Delivering his first address to the nation following ‘Operation Sindoor’, the prime minister said Pakistan had pleaded for the offensive to stop, and India considered de-escalation only after assurances were given that such “misadventures” would not be repeated.
Describing the recent Pahalgam terror attack as the “most barbaric face of terrorism,” Modi said the assault caused him deep personal anguish.
“The enemy now understands the consequences of attempting to wipe the sindoor from the foreheads of our women,” he stated emotionally.
Modi said ‘Operation Sindoor’ demonstrated India’s ability to translate intent into action. “It wasn’t just a name,” he said.

“Through this operation, the world witnessed India’s unwavering resolve. Over 100 dreaded terrorists were eliminated.”
The prime minister concluded with a stern message: “India will not tolerate any nuclear blackmail. Our operations against Pakistan have been kept in abeyance—not called off. Going forward, their actions will determine our response. A new line has been drawn—Operation Sindoor is now India’s policy against terrorism.”
