New Delhi: Panic gripped parts of the national capital on Wednesday morning after nearly 50 schools reported receiving bomb threats via email, triggering massive search operations across the city.
The alerts began pouring in around 7:30 am, officials said.
Among the schools that received threats were Rahul Model School and Maxfort School in Dwarka, SKV in Malviya Nagar, and Andhra School in Prasad Nagar.
The Delhi Fire Services confirmed they got calls about suspected bombs at SKV Malviya Nagar and Andhra School at 7:40 am and 7:42 am, respectively.
Soon after, police teams, bomb squads, and fire units were rushed to the campuses.
Wednesday’s scare comes just two days after a similar hoax shook the city, when 32 schools were targeted with fake bomb threats on August 18.
