Dense fog is expected during morning hours in specific pockets over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on December 11.
Furthermore, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are likely to experience dense fog on both December 11 and 12.
The Met office has extended the warning to six of the seven northeastern states for the next two days, along with certain regions in neighboring states in eastern India.
The IMD statement reads, “Dense fog during morning hours is likely in isolated pockets over West Bengal and Sikkim on December 11 and over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on December 11 and 12.”
Officials from the IMD have reported dense fog early on December 10 in various locations, including Jorhat, Tezpur, and Dhubri in Assam, Barapani in Meghalaya, and Lengpui in Mizoram.
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) of IMD has stressed the likelihood of dense fog in isolated areas over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on Monday.
