Air India Express has extended the suspension of its westbound international flights to the Gulf region until March 2, 2026, citing the ongoing volatile situation in West Asia.

The airline said that it is coordinating with authorities and will resume operations once conditions are deemed safe. According to an official spokesperson, services to and from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates will remain suspended until the specified date.

Passengers affected by the suspension are being offered flexible options, including rescheduling their travel without additional charges or receiving a full refund.

An Air India Express spokesperson on Sunday said, “Air India Express has extended the suspension of flights to and from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, until 23:59 hrs IST (18.29 hrs UTC) on 2nd March 2026.”

“To support guests who had booked travel to or from the Gulf region up to 28th February 2026, for journeys scheduled until 5th March 2026, we are offering the option to reschedule travel to a future date without any date‑change fees, or cancel and get a full refund to the original mode of payment,” the spokesperson added.

Passengers can visit the “Manage Booking” section on the airline’s website to modify or cancel their reservations. Additionally, customers may chat with the airline’s virtual assistant, Tia, on WhatsApp at +91 6360012345 for further assistance.

The disruptions follow escalating tensions in West Asia after joint military strikes involving Israel and the United States targeting Iranian sites, triggering retaliatory threats and the closure of airspace in Iran, Israel and Iraq.

These developments have disrupted key international air routes connecting India and Gulf nations.

Airlines across India, including Air India and IndiGo, have had to reroute or cancel flights. Airports have set up assistance desks to assist stranded passengers, while aviation authorities continue to monitor the situation.
