Israel launched a fresh wave of airstrikes on Iran early Monday, targeting key military infrastructure in Iran’s Kermanshah province, according to a statement from the Israeli military.
The strikes followed the interception of a missile fired from Iran, which triggered air raid sirens across Israel but caused no casualties or damage.
The Israeli Air Force deployed more than 15 warplanes in the operation, striking surface-to-surface missile launch sites and storage facilities.
“The Iranian dictator will be punished with full force for attacking the Israeli home front,” the Israeli Defence Ministry stated.
The airstrikes also expanded to include targets in Tehran, such as Evin Prison, Revolutionary Guard security headquarters, and the Basij paramilitary corps building.
The escalation came amid heightened tensions after Iran fired a missile at Israel early Monday, hours after U.S. forces conducted heavy strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
Tehran responded by launching missiles and drones toward Israel while warning the United States of potential retaliation, claiming its military now has a “free hand” to attack American targets.
Iran’s actions were reportedly provoked by U.S. President Donald Trump’s comments suggesting regime change in Iran, coupled with U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites using sophisticated bunker-buster bombs.
The attacks, described by Tehran as crossing “a very big red line,” targeted facilities including the underground Fordo plant, which suffered “very heavy damage,” according to the head of the United Nations nuclear watchdog.

The United States’ involvement in Israel’s military conflict with Iran has raised fears of a broader regional war.
The strikes on Iranian soil signal a deepening crisis, as Israel and the U.S. increase pressure on Tehran over its nuclear ambitions and military activities.
While Israel continues to target key Iranian sites, including paramilitary and government installations in Tehran, the situation remains volatile.
