Kathmandu: Strengthening bilateral ties, India and Nepal have signed 10 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to implement high-impact community development projects across Nepal.
These initiatives, funded through Indian assistance, amount to a total of NRs 625 million, according to an official statement.
The agreements, signed on Tuesday, focus on key sectors such as education, healthcare, and cultural development, the Indian Embassy in Nepal stated in a press release.
“These High Impact Community Development Projects (#HICDP) are being developed with financial assistance from the Government of India, amounting to NRs 625 million. The projects fall under the Nepal-India Development Cooperation framework and will support advancements in education, health, and cultural sectors,” the embassy announced in a post on X.
The statement further emphasised that these initiatives aim to enhance Nepal’s infrastructure by providing improved educational facilities, better healthcare services, and preserving cultural heritage.
The projects covered under this agreement include the construction of three new schools, a monastery, an e-library in an existing school, and two healthcare centres.
