KOHIMA: In a step towards fostering regional development, the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) of Greater Hyderabad and the Investment and Development Authority Nagaland (IDAN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The signing ceremony took place at the Capital Cultural Hall in Kohima, in the presence of Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton.
Under the MoU, the YMCA of Greater Hyderabad will play a pivotal role in facilitating investment projects across diverse sectors, including sports, youth development, and community empowerment in Nagaland.
The partnership seeks to leverage the expertise and resources of both entities to drive impactful projects for the benefit of the local community.
Abu Metha, Advisor to the Chief Minister, expressing optimism about the collaboration, wrote on social media, “The Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) signed an MoU with the YMCA of Greater Hyderabad to facilitate investment projects to be undertaken in Nagaland in various sectors such as sports, youth activities, and community development. We look forward to a fruitful partnership that will contribute towards the empowerment of our youth.”
The YMCA, affiliated with the Indian chapter of the World YMCA movement, has a creditable track record of actively engaging in community development through a range of programmes and activities.
The synergy between the YMCA’s experience in community-centric initiatives and IDAN’s commitment to catalyse investment projects is expected to yield positive outcomes for the people of Nagaland.
