Kohima: Nagaland’s newest attraction, a water park featuring diverse attractions, has opened its doors to entertain visitors of all ages.
The water park, Merry Land Park, was officially inaugurated on Saturday at Chumoukedima.
Located just a few yards away from the DC office and 2.9 km from the highway, Merry Land Park offers a wide range of attractions for visitors.
From thrilling water rides like Niagara Falls and wave pools to family-friendly options like a carousel and a kids’ play area, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
The park also features a gaming arcade, rental block, changing rooms, a Morung (traditional Naga community hall), a rock garden, a food court, a skating rink, a paddle pool, bumper cars, a funnel slide, a rain dance area, and a photo booth.
Ticket prices are Rs 500 for adults and Rs 400 for children on weekdays, with slightly higher rates of Rs 600 for adults and Rs 500 for children on weekends.
The park is set to open to the public within a week and will operate from 10 am to 6 pm.
The park’s managing director, TK Angami, expressed immense joy and gratitude at the park’s opening, which he described as a “dream come true.”
He dedicated the achievement to the Almighty and acknowledged the contributions of numerous individuals and companies in making the park a reality.
Angami explained that the park’s journey began seven years ago, fuelled by a vision to create a place where people from all over the state could enjoy leisure and entertainment.
He urged the people of Chumoukedima to embrace and protect the new landmark, emphasizing that the park is a gift to the community. He encouraged residents to support the park’s growth and development.
The District Commissioner, in his speech, congratulated the proprietor and the team for inaugurating the long-awaited amusement park.
He highlighted the park’s potential to attract visitors from across the state and beyond, boosting tourism and providing a much-needed recreational outlet for families.
The park is set to operate 24/7, year-round, with reduced rates for children, students, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities.
The park’s administrator, Vitono Haralu, announced that the park will open to the public within a week and will offer a variety of attractions, including some rides included in the ticket price and others available at an additional cost.
Haralu mentioned that the park currently covers 10 acres, with plans for future expansion.

Several dignitaries including District Commissioner of Chümoukedima Polan John; Chairman of Chümoukedima Village Council & Advisor APO Razhuvotuo Chatsu; Chairman of Chümoukedima Town Council Lhusito Khr; among others graced the event.
