Kohima: Nagaland’s Higher and Technical Education Minister, Temjen Imna Along, on Sunday assured that the pending post-matric scholarships for students will be disbursed soon.
Speaking to reporters, the minister said the first phase of the scholarships had been released earlier this year, but several students are still waiting for the second installment.
He noted that the state government is actively following up with the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs for the release of the central share.
According to Along, the ministry recently sought a statement of expenditure and requirements for the 2024–25 financial year, which the department has already submitted.

He expressed confidence that funds would be made available to Nagaland shortly, paving the way for immediate payments to students.
Responding to the All Nagaland College Students’ Union’s demand for a common scholarship cell, the minister said the government had already directed officials to streamline the process.
A dedicated scholarship cell is now being set up under the Higher Education Department.
“I will personally ensure the matter is pursued and completed at the earliest,” Along said, adding that the government remains committed to addressing student concerns.
