Kohima: The Konyak Heritage Complex will be inaugurated on April 5, coinciding with the Aoleang Festival of the Nagaland‘s Konyak tribe.
The decision was made during a review meeting on January 25 at the Chief Minister’s Residence Office, following Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio’s visit to the project site on January 20.
The review meeting focused on the progress of the ongoing Konyak Heritage Complex project in the Mon district.
The Konyak Heritage Complex is a multi-purpose facility designed to boost tourism, preserve cultural heritage, and improve local livelihoods.
The major components of the project are nine Morungs, amphitheatre, an administrative building, a multi-purpose hall, and open-air ground along with a rostrum.
Other planned additions include an Angh House, helipad, women’s hostel, basketball court, guest house, park, and water reservoir.
Chief Minister Rio directed the Department of Underdeveloped Areas and the contractor to complete all project components on time for the inauguration.

The meeting was also attended by Advisor DUDA, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner, Commissioner & Secretary DUDA, Director, Additional Director, Executive Engineer and the contractors.
The Konyak Heritage Complex aims to serve as a cultural hub and a key attraction for visitors to the region.
