KOHIMA: The Nagaland government will launch students’ health cards on September 5 (Teacher’s Day) for student’s health care.
This was informed by Advisor for School Education & SCERT, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, on Friday during the felicitation program of awardees for the Nagaland Government School Students Meritorious Award in Kohima.
He further informed that there are 1,939 government schools in Nagaland, covering every district of the state, and are equipped with well-qualified teachers for the improvement of the education system.
He said the School Education department is giving its best effort to upgrade the education system and for which, government schools have been giving free quality education.
Yhome also urged the teachers to build cordial relationships to create a congenial atmosphere in the schools.
The Advisor lamented the perception that students attending government schools are from financially weaker backgrounds, urging people to change their mindset.

Altogether 12 meritorious students from government schools who came out with flying colours were awarded at the programme.
Principal Director, Directorate of School Education, Thavaseelan K, said that the Award was started in 2023 with the aim to motivate students in government schools.
