Kohima: As the agitation by the All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers’ Group (ANATG)-2015 entered its 11th day on Tuesday, representatives of the group held fresh talks with the state government in an attempt to break the impasse over their long-pending demands.
The discussion, which lasted nearly three hours, ended without any breakthrough, members of the ANATG said after the meeting.
The delegation was called for talks at around 11 am by the Advisor for School Education. The meeting was attended by the Principal Director and the Joint Mission Director of Samagra Shiksha, along with officials from the Directorate of School Education and the Secretariat. Representatives of the All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) were also present during the deliberations.
During the meeting, the ANATG-2015 once again pressed for fulfillment of its primary demands, particularly the segregation of the adhoc teachers and the announcement of a clear, time-bound roadmap for regularisation of their services.
Officials engaged in detailed discussions on the issues raised and shared their perspectives and clarifications. Despite the extensive exchange of views, both sides were unable to reach a final agreement, according to members of the teachers’ group.
After the talks concluded, the protesting teachers dispersed peacefully, adhering to directives issued by the district administration regarding the permitted duration of the agitation.

The ANATG core committee later informed that it would hold a general body meeting on Wednesday to brief members on the outcome of the discussions and determine the next steps in their protest.
The ANATG-2015 batch has been carrying out a sustained agitation seeking regularisation of 1,166 adhoc teachers, alleging that the government has taken an inordinately long time to resolve their employment status.
