Kohima: Nagaland Governor La Ganesan on Monday inaugurated the Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar Central Library at International University, Dimapur.
The event coincided with the eve of the 136th birth anniversary of Hedgewar, the founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Speaking during the event, the governor highlighted the significance of libraries in cultivating intellectual growth and promoting a culture of lifelong learning.
He lauded the establishment of the Central Library as a fitting tribute to Dr. Hedgewar’s legacy, highlighting its potential to serve as a center of knowledge, research, and academic excellence.
“A well-equipped library serves as a center of learning and reflection, inspiring students and scholars to delve into history, philosophy, science, and the humanities while staying rooted in the ethos of our great civilization,” Ganesan said.
He also stressed the need to integrate digital resources and modern technology into the library to enhance accessibility and cater to evolving academic demands. He encouraged students to use the library not just for academic excellence but for intellectual and personal growth.
The governor congratulated the university and its founder, Dr. Priyaranjan Trivedi, for the initiative.
He commended the faculty, students, and administration for their efforts in establishing the library.
The governor also released a book authored by the Founder Chancellor of the University, Dr. Priyaranjan Trivedi.

The event was attended by Pro-Chancellor Dr. Utkarsh Sharma, Chancellor Dr. Shyam Narayan Pandey, Vice Chancellor Dr. Subhram Rajkhowa, and other university officials.
The Central Library will serve as a vital resource hub for students, researchers, and scholars across all disciplines.
