Kohima: The ongoing expansion and renovation of Dimapur Airport’s terminal building is set for completion by March 2025.
This was informed by M. Raja Kishore, Regional Executive Director (RED), Northeast Region of Airports Authority of India on Saturday during an inspection of the airport.
Kishore said the upgraded facilities in the terminal would increase the airport’s capacity and connectivity.
Following a review meeting with airport officials, he expressed confidence in the project’s timeline.
During his visit, Kishore also attended the 25th Hornbill Festival in Kohima, where he experienced Nagaland’s rich cultural heritage.
He also called on Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to deliberate on resolving the land-related issues to upgrade Dimapur airport to international standards.
The chief minister promised swift action to address these issues to enable better aircraft operations and improved connectivity.
The meeting delved into strategies to elevate Nagaland’s tourism industry and expand its organic exports, taking into account suggestions from local chambers of commerce.
Kishore highlighted the importance of leveraging Dimapur Airport to enhance business and entrepreneurship opportunities, generate employment, and strengthen connectivity.
