Kohima: Kelulu Dawhuo, a 19-year-old model representing the Chakhesang tribe, was crowned Miss Universe Nagaland 2025 in a spectacular grand finale held on Tuesday evening at the RCEMPA in Jotsoma, near Kohima.
The prestigious beauty pageant, organized under the aegis of the Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN), saw enthusiastic participation from contestants across the state.
Dawhuo, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree at St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama, demonstrated exceptional poise and grace throughout the competition.
She triumphed over 13 other finalists to clinch the coveted title, impressing both the judges and the audience with her performance.
This victory marks a significant achievement for Dawhuo, who previously secured the second runner-up position at Miss Nagaland 2024 and currently holds the title of Miss Kohima 2024.
Her latest win earns her the honour of representing Nagaland at the upcoming Miss Universe India pageant, which is expected to be held later this year.
The first runner-up title was awarded to Anon Konyak A, who is also the reigning Miss Nagaland 2024. Teilih Konyak, a first-time contestant, secured the second runner-up position.
A total of 14 contestants vied for the Miss Universe Nagaland 2025 title. The esteemed judging panel included Rhea Singha, the reigning Miss Universe India 2024, and Amjad Khan, Director of Franchise Operations for Miss Universe India.

Adding to the evening’s glamour was a special appearance by Ruopfuzano Whiso, the outgoing Miss Universe Nagaland 2024 and fourth-place winner at Miss Universe India 2024.
