KOHIMA: In a harmonious gathering set to captivate music enthusiasts, Kohima, the picturesque capital of Nagaland, is poised to host the Asia Music Summit from February 1 to 3.
This musical extravaganza is expected to draw some of the most influential figures from the global music industry.
The summit’s features guestlist boasts of a diverse array of luminaries, including Jason Mayall, Director of Japanese concert promoters Smash Corporation, Carlos Seixas, Artistic and Production Director of FMM Sines Festival from Portugal, Alejandro Orellana Quiroz, a renowned jazz artist promoter and music agent from Chile, and Poom Piyasu Komaradat, the proprietor of Thailand’s independent record label.
Initiated by Music Connect Asia and co-organised by the Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) under the Government of Nagaland, the summit serves as an annual gathering of leaders in culture and the creative industries.
It aims to provide a global platform for the exchange of ideas, fostering the birth of new concepts and partnerships within Asia and beyond.
Earlier in December, while announcing the summit, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio had expressed delight to host the festival in the state.
“The Asia Music Summit will be one of the biggest B2B and music expos in the country. It will further establish Nagaland’s place on the international music map,” Rio had said on a social media website.
TaFMA chairman, Theja Meru, highlighted that this edition of the summit will witness influential figures from the cultural music industry engaging in three days of meetings, discussions, panels, and live performances.
This presents a unique opportunity for musicians, agents, and artist managers to interact with luminaries, festival directors, and talent buyers, he added.
The summit, with limited seats available, requires registration for entry.
