Kohima: Girls have once again outshone boys in the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) Class 10 and Class 12 examinations, results of which were officially declared on Friday, according to education department officials.
This year, the Class 10 High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) exams recorded a pass percentage of 75.16%.
Out of 22,313 students who appeared, 16,771 passed. Among the successful candidates, 8,878 were girls, while 7,893 were boys. Lungyihangle Nring from St Paul Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, emerged as the Class 10 topper with an impressive 98.67% score.
In the Class 12 Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) exams, the overall pass percentage was higher at 82.44%.
Of the 16,649 students who sat for the exams across the Arts, Commerce, and Science streams, 13,725 cleared them.
Once again, girls led the way, with 7,820 passing compared to 5,905 boys.

Among the stream-wise toppers, Vikhono Senotsu of Government Higher Secondary School, Jotsoma, Kohima, topped the Arts stream with 96.20%.
In Commerce, Arti Kumari from Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, secured the first rank with 94.60%.
The Science stream was led by Snigtha Mukherjee of St John Higher Secondary Residential School, Dimapur, who scored 93.40%.
