Aizawl: A 51-year-old man from Tripura lost his life after being struck by a train near Khamrang station in Mizoram’s Kolasib district on Sunday evening, police said.
The victim, identified as Zonunzira of Naisingpara — a former Bru refugee camp in North Tripura — was hit around 7:15 pm while crossing the tracks near a tunnel close to Khamrang station.
He had been working at a rubber and palm oil firm in the area, an officer said.
Local residents claimed the man was in an inebriated state at the time of the accident.
