Aizawl: The Mizoram government has requested the National Skill Development Corporation International (NSDCI) to establish a Japanese language training centre in Aizawl, aiming to support local youths aspiring for caregiving and nursing jobs in Japan.
Mizoram Youth Commission chairman Malsawmzuala Ralte, during a meeting with NSDCI CEO Alok Kumar in New Delhi, highlighted the growing demand among Mizo youths to work in Japan and stressed the need for accessible training facilities.
Ralte pointed out that, in the past, the state government had collaborated with NSDCI to send candidates to Noida for Japanese language courses.
However, he noted that the distance posed significant difficulties for many.

To address this, he proposed that a language centre be set up at the Mizoram Youth Commission office in Aizawl.
Responding positively, Kumar assured that an NSDCI team would soon visit the state to explore the proposal and work out the modalities.
Currently, more than 100 young people from Mizoram are employed in Japan, underscoring the importance of expanding such training opportunities within the state.
