Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma has received the ‘Silver Elephant Award’, the highest national honour from the Bharat Scouts & Guides.

The award was presented during the organisation’s 60th anniversary celebration, held in conjunction with the 19th National Jamboree in Lucknow on Friday, in the presence of President of India  Droupadi Murmu.

The chief minister dedicated the honour to the people of Mizoram and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting the Scout & Guide.

The chief minister took it to his social media to express his gratitude. He wrote, “Honoured to receive the Silver Elephant Award, the highest distinction of the Bharat Scouts & Guides. I accept it on behalf of the people of Mizoram, known for discipline, community spirit and service. Mizoram will continue to support the Scout & Guide Movement and youth development across India.”

The award citation praised Lalduhoma’s “Most Exceptional Service to the Scout/Guide Movement”, acknowledging his significant commitment to youth development and community service.

The chief minister said the honour was not his personal achievement, but a recognition of the collective commitment of the Mizo community to nurturing character, leadership and social responsibility among the youth.

He expressed gratitude to scout leaders, volunteers and mentors nationwide for their role in guiding and shaping young minds.
