Aizawl: Mizoram on Thursday bade farewell to outgoing Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati.
A ceremonial send-off function hosted by Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma was organized at the state’s lone airport in Lengpui.
After serving in Mizoram for over three years and five months, Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati Kambhampati left the state on Thursday afternoon to assume his new role as the Governor of Odisha.
In his ceremonial send-off function, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality and affection he received during his tenure in Mizoram.
He acknowledged the significant potential for progress within Mizoram and emphasized the importance of collective efforts to propel the state forward.
Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati expressed his profound affection for Mizoram and extended his heartfelt wishes for the state’s future.
Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma thanked the outgoing Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati for his contributions to the overall development of the State.
He wished him success in his new role and extended an invitation to visit Mizoram in the near future.
Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati was sworn in as the 22nd Governor of Mizoram on July 21, 2021.
The incoming Governor, Gen. (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd.), is expected to arrive in Mizoram on January 8, 2025. He will be sworn in as Mizoram’s 23rd Governor on January 9 at Raj Bhavan.

The ceremonial send-off function was attended by Assembly speaker Lalbiakzama, Home Minister K Sapdanga, PWD Minister Vanlalhlana, Chief Secretary Khilli Ram Meena, DGP Anil Shukla and other dignitaries.
