AIZAWL/ITANAGAR: Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh marked their 37th and 38th Statehood Day respectively on Tuesday, with solemn ceremonies and messages of gratitude echoing across the regions.
In Mizoram, Chief Minister Lalduhoma led heartfelt tributes to the fallen heroes at the Assam Rifles War Memorial in Aizawl.
Organised by 2 AR (Assam Rifles), the observance saw Chief Minister Lalduhoma, accompanied by esteemed officials, participating in a solemn ceremony.
The event, centred around the laying of wreaths, honoured the brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
The Assam Rifles War Memorial holds profound significance as a site dedicated to remembering and honouring those who laid down their lives in service.
Chief Minister Lalduhoma’s active participation underscored Mizoram’s deep gratitude and respect for the fallen heroes.
The Statehood Day celebration served as a poignant moment of reflection, marking Mizoram’s journey since achieving statehood 37 years ago.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt wishes to the people of Mizoram on the occasion of Statehood Day. Taking to a micro-blogging website, he expressed, “Statehood Day wishes to the people of Mizoram. India is very proud of Mizoram’s unique cultural tapestry, its rich beauty, and the warm-hearted spirit of its people. The Mizo culture is deeply inspiring, embodying a blend of tradition and harmony. Praying for the continuous progress, peace, and prosperity of Mizoram.”
The ceremonies not only paid homage to the past but also highlighted the unity and resilience of Mizoram in the face of adversities.
Meanwhile, in Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Pema Khandu led the state’s 38th Statehood Day celebration.
In a message shared on social media, Chief Minister Khandu expressed gratitude and acknowledged the collective efforts that have propelled the state towards a multifaceted development trajectory.
“With usual fervor and enthusiasm, we commemorate our Statehood Day today,” Chief Minister Pema Khandu wrote on a micro-blogging website, adding, “I humbly recognise the contributions of all in ensuring the remarkable progress of Arunachal Pradesh in various sectors.”
“Our collective journey reflects a concerted effort towards holistic progress,” Chief Minister Khandu remarked. “We have laid a solid foundation for the continued all-round growth of our great State in the years to come,” he added.
