Saiha: The Lunglei Batallion of Assam Rifles on Saturday recovered a huge cache of war like stores at Tuipang in Saiha district of Mizoram.
Acting on specific information, the operation was carried out jointly by Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police near Block Tuipang of Saiha district.
The team had specific information of possible smuggling of weapon and war like stores moving in three kenbo bikes, which tried to evade the Mobile Vehicle Check Post in the general area Tuipang.
Spot checking was carried out by the joint team of Assam Rifles and Mizoram Police and during checking, the huge cache of arms was recovered. Four Myanmar nationals were arrested.
The recoveries included one .22 rifle, one NX 200 Antenna (Perihole), 60 rounds of .22 ammunition, three boxes of .177 pellets, 500 rounds of 70 mm ammunition, 22.42 kg of gun powder and three kenbo bikes.
Various other tactical items like tactical vests, tactical gloves, combat uniform and boots were also recovered.
The four Myanmar nationals and the recoveries of arms and ammunition were handed over to Tuipang Police Station.
