Earlier this month, the NPP said it was in the final stages of selecting candidates. NPP working president Marquise N. Marak said the party will contest all constituencies in the upcoming GHADC elections and has received an overwhelming response from aspirants.
Further, the party received a major political boost on February 7, with more than 300 members from different political parties formally joining its ranks in the Tura and Garobadha belt of West Garo Hills. The induction programme was held at Garobadha in the presence of senior party functionaries, including MLA Subir Marak and other NPP leaders, marking one of the largest recent political mobilisations in the region.
