Shillong: The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) on Saturday conducted the National Lok Adalat across the High Court and all district courts of the state, taking up a total of 847 cases for settlement.
According to officials, 462 pre-litigation cases and 385 pending cases were listed during the exercise. Of these, 288 cases were successfully settled, resulting in a cumulative settlement amount of Rs. 2,65,82,254.

The day-long Lok Adalat was held under the guidance of Justice H. S. Thangkhiew, Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya and Executive Chairman of MSLSA, and Justice W. Diengdoh, Judge of the High Court and Chairperson of the High Court Legal Services Committee. It was organised under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
