Shillong: Meghalaya Urban Affairs minister Hamletson Dohling on Saturday joined the National People’s Party (NPP).
Hamletson Dohling was elected to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in 2018 as a People’s Democratic Front (PDF) member from Mylliem constituency.
He was Minister of Municipal Administration, Urban Affairs, Information Technology and Communication in Conrad Sangma ministry from 2018.
Hamletson Dohling was the general secretary of Khasi Students Union (KSU) from 1993 to 2012.

He is backed by thousands today who have affirmed their faith in his leadership,” NPP president and Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma tweeted.

Conrad K Sangma urged the support of the people to Hamletson Dohling as the NPP candidate for Mylliem constituency in the upcoming state assembly election.
In addition to Hamletson Dohling, several other leaders of the PDF joined NPP on Saturday.
The other PDF members who joined NPP are former party president Ivanlumlang Marbaniang and former PDF general secretary Emlang Lytan.
