Tura: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has announced that 5,678 students have passed the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Supplementary Examination 2025, achieving a pass percentage of 80.35%.

The exam, conducted from May 1 to 8, marked the first time since 1993 that a supplementary SSLC examination was held in the state.

A total of 7,066 students appeared for the supplementary exam. The board attributed the smooth and successful conduct of the examination to the collaborative efforts of the Education Department, District Administration, Police, heads of institutions, and teachers.

MBOSE expressed gratitude to educators in particular, whose commitment was instrumental throughout the process.

“This successful reintroduction after more than three decades reflects not only the system’s preparedness but also the dedication of all stakeholders,” said T.R. Laloo, Controller of Examinations, MBOSE.

This year’s overall SSLC performance—combining the results of the main and supplementary examinations—shows a substantial leap in pass rates.

The main examination recorded a pass percentage of 87.10%. When averaged with the supplementary results, the overall pass percentage for 2025 stands at an impressive 96.02%.

MBOSE credited this notable improvement to both the hard work of students and the introduction of the Chief Minister’s IMPACT Guide Book, which helped streamline exam preparation and improve academic outcomes.

As the board celebrates this year’s achievements, officials emphasized the importance of continued collaboration to further enhance educational standards in the state.

A detailed breakdown of the SSLC results is available on the official MBOSE website: www.mbose.in.
