Ampati: In a significant step towards promoting waste segregation and sustainable development, the District Administration of South West Garo Hills, in collaboration with the District Tourism Department, launched a cleanliness campaign on Friday.
The initiative aims to promote sustainable waste management and foster a culture of environmental consciousness among residents.
The event, held at the DRDA Conference Hall, was chaired by Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills Hema Nayak. The campaign involved the distribution of dustbins to schools, tourist areas, and other key locations across the district.
The event was attended by senior district officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioners and Block Development Officers, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in environmental conservation.
By providing accessible waste disposal facilities in schools, tourist spots, and other key areas, the District Administration seeks to encourage residents to adopt proper waste segregation practices and also aims to foster a culture of cleanliness and environmental responsibility.
