Ampati (Meghalaya): South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Hema Nayak has conducted a site inspection of the under-construction Block Institute of Teachers Education (BITE) at Betasing under the C&RD Block.
The inspection, carried out in the presence of officials from the College of Teacher Education (CTE), Rongkhon, Tura, brought to light concerns over the sluggish pace of the project.
Nayak stressed the significance of the institute in fostering local talent and providing essential training for aspiring teachers in the region.
Describing the delay as a serious concern, the deputy commissioner directed that the issue be brought to the attention of higher authorities for immediate redressal.
She also proposed the appointment of a dedicated monitoring officer from the relevant department to ensure consistent oversight and progress.
