Shillong: Popular Bollywood playback singers Neeti Mohan and Kanika Kapoor are set to headline the Me’gong Festival 2025, which will take place in Meghalaya’s Garo Hills on December 5 and 6.
This year’s edition of the festival is expected to be more vibrant and expansive, offering a dynamic showcase of culture, music and community spirit.
The festival is being organised by the Meghalaya government’s Department of Tourism.
Singer Neeti Mohan, renowned for hits like Ishq Wala Love, Jiya Re, Nainowale Ne and Kheech Meri Photo, will perform on the opening day of the festival.
The second day of the festival will feature Kanika Kapoor, famed for chartbusters like Baby Doll, Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan, Lovely, and Jugni Ji.
The Me•Gong Festival, inspired by a beautiful flower native to the Garo Hills, is regarded as one of Meghalaya’s premier cultural events. The 2-day fiesta showcases the rich heritage of the Garo community through live music, indigenous crafts, traditional cuisine, and immersive cultural experiences.
The 2025 edition is expected to attract thousands of visitors from across the country, creating significant opportunities for local artisans, entrepreneurs, and businesses, while further strengthening the region’s tourism ecosystem.
Beyond the music, Me•Gong Festival allows visitors to experience the Garo people’s warm hospitality and the Garo Hills’ scenic beauty, offering tourists an unforgettable taste of Meghalaya’s cultural landscape.
