Tura: The State Bank of India (SBI) has begun refilling its ATMs across Meghalaya’s Garo Hills region to address the shortage of cash faced by residents and ensure adequate cash supply amid the ongoing internet shutdown in the region.
According to information received from the bank, cash loading operations are currently being carried out in all SBI ATMs, and the bank expects that most machines will become fully operational within the next half an hour.
Several SBI ATMs have already resumed dispensing cash. These include the machines located at Tura Main Branch, New Tura, Chandmari, Thakurbari, DC Office, Tentenkol, Rongkhong, Super Market Tura, 128 Bn CRPF, BSF Dhanagre, Hallydaygunj, Tikrikilla, Rongram, Jengjal, New Bhaitbari, Dobasipara, Borkona, Mahendraganj, Selsella and Phulbari.

SBI officials said teams are actively working to load cash in the remaining ATMs and the machines will be made operational shortly.
Authorities have urged the public not to panic, assuring that steps are being taken to restore normal cash availability across the region as quickly as possible.
